And just like with the other blogging sites I've used, I completely forgotten I have one of these and stop using it. Oops?
Well, to recap a bit... the job at the Trixie Foundation didn't work out. Instead I'm now back at my old job taking pictures of cars for the internet for two major dealerships in town. Sounds like an easy gig, but if you've ever worked in the automobile industry you know the things you see are just the tip of the ice burg. But for as stressful as it can be I actually really enjoy it. Though I don't like doing it in the weather we've been having. Thank God the fabric to make curtains for my photo booth comes in on Monday. Then it's just a matter of getting the panels sown into curtains and hung.
Along with doing that, though, I'm trying to enlist in the Air Force again. I tried two years back and was disqualified because of heart surgery I had when I was seventeen from a car wreck. I appealed that to the Air Force Surgeon General and he denied my appeal. Well, two years later I go into the Army National Guard office to try and enlist with them. The recruiter there asks if the surgery was the only reason I was disqualified and since I wasn't 100% sure I asked my old Air Force recruiter. He said that was the only reason and that the SG was concerned about the integrity of my sternum after my surgery.
They didn't crack my ribcage to do my surgery.
So I resubmitting my appeal with a letter from my heart surgeon saying that they didn't perform my surgery in the manner that it's usually performed (by cracking your ribcage) and that there is no medical reason I shouldn't be able to enlist. Fingers crossed that's enough.
And I just got off the phone with a wholesale fabric place on the west coast about fabric I ordered for that photo booth. I ordered it over a month ago and it JUST got from their vendor to them. Needless to say I was livid. They're expediting it and I demanded to not be charged extra for it. So I basically got 35 yards of fabric plus enough thread to make curtains for $150. I'm feeling pretty awesome. Now if only I could get the auto inventory site to cooperate and load these stupid pictures life would be golden...
